§ 1393. Examinations

The examinations shall be wholly or partly in writing, in the English language, and shall be of a practical character, sufficiently strict to test the qualifications of the applicant. In its discretion the board may use multiple choice style examinations provided by the National Board of Examiners or by the Federation of State Medical Boards (The Federation Licensing Examination or FLEX). The examinations shall embrace the general subjects of anatomy, physiology, chemistry, pathology, bacteriology, hygiene, practice of medicine, surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, materia medica, therapeutics and legal medicine. The subjects covered by National Board or FLEX examination shall be considered to have met the requirements of this section. If the applicant passes the National Board of Examiners test or FLEX examination, he will qualify for licensure. (Amended 1969, No. 187 (Adj. Sess.), § 6; 1977, No. 259 (Adj.
