12-11a07.   Same; tax levies by townships; election.For the purpose of paying the cost of contracting for or joining in theestablishment of a department for the purpose of providing such special lawenforcement, the township board is hereby authorized to levy a tax of notto exceed two mills upon all taxable tangible property within such townshipto pay the costs thereof: Provided, That no levy shall be made underthe provisions of this section without the question of levying the samehaving been submitted to and been approved by a majority of the electors ofthe township voting at an election called and held for such purpose. Allsuch elections shall be noticed, called and held in the manner provided forthe giving of notice, calling and holding elections upon the question ofthe issuance of bonds under the general bond law.
