Article 14.--CEMETERIES

      12-1427.   Same; abolishment of board; election; petition, when.Any city may abandon this method of governing the cemeteries and abolishthe cemetery board by a majority of the qualified electors of such city atany regular election or at a special election called for that purpose, andsuch election shall be called only upon the presentation of a petition tothe governing body of said city, signed by not less than twenty-fivepercent of the qualified voters of such city, praying for such election;the question to be submitted in the usual form: Provided, That no suchelection shall be called until two or more years after such cemetery boardis created.
