12-1608.   Quarterly report by treasurer.(a) The treasurer of each city of the first or second class shallpublish or cause to bepublished in a newspaper published in such city, or if there is nonewspaper published in such city then in a newspaper published inthecounty in which such city is located and having a general circulation insuch city, within 30 days after the quarter ending in March, June,September and December of each year, a statement showing the total amountreceived into each fund and the total amount expended from each fund andthe cash balances of each fund at the beginning and close of eachquarter. Such quarterly statement shall show the amount ofoutstanding registered warrants, temporary notes, bonds and all otherobligations and liabilities of the city.

      (b)   In the case of cities of the third class, the treasurer shall file anannual statement showing the total amount received into each fund and the totalamount expended from each fund and the cash balances of each fund at thebeginning and close of each year. Such annual statement shall show the amountof outstanding registered warrants, temporary notes, bonds and all otherobligations and liabilities of the city. The annual statement shall bepublished within 30 days after December 31 of each year in the official citynewspaper.
