Article 16.--MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS

      12-1610g.   Same; powers exercised through instrumentality; limitationon liability; custody of files upon termination.The member cities of the league of Kansas municipalities acting by andthrough such instrumentality and in its name shall have power to purchase,or to receive by gift, devise or bequest, and to hold real and personalproperty; to sell and convey any such real or personal property; to makecontracts; to have and use a seal for such instrumentality; to sue and besued in the name of such instrumentality in relation to its property andaffairs; and to do all other acts necessary to the exercise of thefunctions of such instrumentality: Provided, That the payments of thecurrent annual membership dues and subscriptions shall be the limit ofliability of any member city for the acts and obligations of saidinstrumentality: Provided further, That in the event the league ofKansas municipalities is dissolved or otherwise terminated all of itsfiles, records, assets and property whatsoever, shall be delivered to thesecretary of state to be held in custody for the cities of this state.
