12-1660.   Same; historical society as supervisor or curator, when;compensation.If there is within the city or county in which such historicalcollection as provided in this act is established, an organized historicalsociety, such society may be designated by the governing body as supervisoror curator of such historical collection, and the governing body mayprovide to such society compensation, funds or reimbursements forsupervising, housing, displaying, caring for and maintaining suchcollection.
