Article 17.--BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND GROUNDS

      12-1776.   Transmittal of documentsto county and school district; increasein valuation not considered for certain purposes; certification of increasedvaluation.(a) After the adoption by the city governing body of a projectplan, the clerk of the city shall transmit acopy of the descriptionof the land within the redevelopment district, a copyof the ordinance adoptingthe plan and a map or plat indicating the boundaries of the districtto the clerk, assessor and treasurer of the county in which the districtis located and to the governing bodies of the county and school districtwhich levy taxes upon any property in the district. Such documentsshall be transmitted following the adoptionor modification of the planor a revision of theplan on or before theJanuary 1 of the yearin which the increment is first allocated to the taxing subdivision pursuant toK.S.A. 12-1775, and amendments thereto.

      (b)   For any year in which taxes are to be paid to the special fundestablished under subsection (d)(2) of K.S.A. 12-1775, andamendments thereto,any increase in assessed valuation of taxable tangible real property withinthe redevelopment district in excess of an amount equal tothe total assessedvalue of such real property on the date of the establishment of theredevelopment district shall not be considered by any taxing subdivision incomputing any debt limitation or for any other purpose except for the levy oftaxes and in determining theamount to be paid to such special fund.

      (c)   The appraiser of any county in which aredevelopment district isauthorized by a city shall certify the amount of such increase inassessed valuation of real and personal property within theredevelopment district to the county clerk on or before July 1 ofeach year.
