12-1776a.   School districts; base year assessedvaluation.(a) As used in this section:

      (1)   "School district" means any school district in which is located aredevelopmentdistrict for which bonds have been issued pursuant to K.S.A. 12-1770 etseq., and amendmentsthereto.

      (2)   "Base year assessed valuation", "redevelopment district" and"redevelopmentproject" shall have the meanings ascribed thereto by K.S.A. 12-1770a, andamendments thereto.

      (b)   No later than November 1 of each year, the county clerk of each countyshall certify tothe state board of education the assessed valuation of any school districtlocated within aredevelopment district in such county. For the purposes of this section and fordetermining theamount of state aid for school districts under K.S.A. 72-6434 and 75-2319, andamendmentsthereto, the base year assessed valuation of property within the boundaries ofa redevelopmentdistrict shall be used when determining the assessed valuation of a schooldistrict until the bondsissued pursuant to K.S.A. 12-1770 et seq., and amendments thereto,to finance redevelopmentprojects in the redevelopment district have been retired.
