Article 17.--BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND GROUNDS

     
12-1798.   Same; amendment to ordinance; effect; protest petition.
(a) The ordinance creating the district may be amended, property may be
added to the district and the maximum rate of taxes referred to in
the ordinance may be increased at any time in the same manner as for the
establishment of a district. All property added to a district shall be subject
to all taxes currently and thereafter levied.

     
(b)   At any time prior to amendment of the ordinance creating the district
by the governing body of the city, the entire matter of amending such ordinance
shall be withdrawn from consideration if a petition is filed with the city
clerk containing the signatures of at least 40% of all owners of property
representing 40% or more of the assessed value of all property within the district and
all property proposed to be included.
