12-2529.   Commissioners of Kansas City area transportation authority; vacancies.Any vacancy created in the Kansas City area transportation authority, createdby compact between the states of Kansas and Missouri, shall befilled as follows:

      Within thirty (30) days after a vacancy occurs in a commissioner positionthat was originally the appointment of the mayor of Kansas City, Kansas,a successor shall be appointed by the mayor of Kansas City, Kansas, withthe approval of a majority of the members of the city commission of KansasCity, Kansas.

      Within thirty (30) days after a vacancy occurs in a commissioner positionthat was originally the appointment of the governor, a successor shall beappointed by the board of county commissioners of the county from whichthe former commissioner was appointed.
