Article 28.--PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

      12-2817.   Same; resignations; removals; vacancies.Any member may resign from office to take effect when a successor has beenappointed and has qualified. The mayor, with the approval of the governingbody of the city, may remove any member of the board in case ofincompetency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office. The member shallbe given a copy of the charges and an opportunity to be publicly heard inperson or by counsel upon not less than 10 days' notice. In case of failureto qualify within the time required, or of abandonment of office, or incase of death, conviction of a crime, involving moral turpitude or removalfrom office, the office of such member shall become vacant. Each vacancyshall be filled for the unexpired term by the mayor with the approval ofthe governing body.
