12-2823.   Appointment of manager, attorney, engineer and otherofficers; duties; bonds; compensation.The board may appoint a general manager who shall be a person ofrecognized ability and experience in the operation of transportationsystems. The general manager shall hold office during the pleasure of theboard. The general manager shall manage the properties and business of theauthority and the employees thereof, subject to the general control of theboard, shall direct the enforcement of all resolutions, rules andregulations of the board, and shall perform such other duties as may beprescribed by the board. The board may appoint a general attorney and achief engineer and shall provide for the appointment of other officers,attorneys, engineers, consultants, agents and employees as may be necessaryfor the construction, extension, operation, maintenance, and policing ofits properties. The board shall define their duties and require bonds ofsuch of them as the board may designate. The general manager, generalattorney, chief engineer, and all other officers provided for pursuant tothis section shall be exempt from taking and subscribing any oath ofoffice. The compensation of the general manager, general attorney, chiefengineer, and all other officers, attorneys, consultants, agents andemployees shall be fixed by the board.
