Article 3.--CONSOLIDATION OF MUNICIPALITIES

      12-326.   Notice to owner or purchaser to file plat of land.Whenever any owner of any tract of land in any such consolidated cityhas conveyed or shall hereafter convey any part thereof by metes and boundsor by lot numbers without filing a plat thereof in the office of theregister of deeds in the proper county, or shall have invested the publicwith any rights therein by dedication, prescription or otherwise, it shallbe the duty of the mayor of said city to cause a notice to be given to theoriginal proprietor of said tract and to any subsequent purchasers, if heor she shall deem the same necessary, that they are required to execute aplat as required by law. Such notice shall specify the tract or tractsrequired to be platted, and shall demand that such owner or owners file aplat within thirty days from the time of the service of notice on suchowners; and such notice shall specify the manner in which such tracts ofland shall be platted. The notices provided for shall be served by the citymarshal if the parties are residents of the city, otherwise the same shallbe served by mail.
