Article 49.--HOMES FOR AGED

      12-4909.   Operation of home; administration and employees.Every home for the aged established under this act and not leased by thegoverning body as provided under K.S.A. 12-4911 andamendments thereto, shall be operated under the supervision ofthe governing body and shall be for the benefit of all the inhabitantsof such city, except that for an existing adult care home acquired by acity by gift or purchase to be used as a home for the aged, the governingbody may appoint a board of trustees to supervise the operation of the homefor the aged. The governing body of the city is hereby authorized topromulgate and adopt rules and regulations pertaining to the operation ofthe home for the aged. The governing body or, if a board of trustees hasbeen appointed, the board of trustees shall appoint a responsible andqualified person who shall at all times be in charge of the home and whoshall be known as the administrator, and such other employees as is deemednecessary for the proper and adequate care of the residents in the home.
