Chapter 12.--CITIES AND MUNICIPALITIES
Article 5.--ADDITIONS, VACATION AND LOT FRONTAGE

      12-515.   Hearing on petition; ordinance and certificate; plat;recordation.Upon the presentation of such petition and plats it shall be the duty ofthe governing body, at its next regular meeting, to examine, consider anddetermine the same; and if it shall appear that the public interest andconvenience will in no way be prejudiced by the proposed change, it shallbe allowed and made by an ordinance to be for that purpose passed,approved, published, recorded and preserved in like manner as otherordinances of such city; and within ten days after the publication of suchordinance the city clerk shall make under his or her hand as such clerk,and the seal of such city, a certificate setting forth that by suchordinance (describing the same by its number and the date of its passageand publication) a certain block or certain blocks of such city (describingthem according to their description upon the recorded plat of such city)have been changed so as to accord with the plat to which such certificateis attached, and attach the same to the plat last referred to in K.S.A.12-514, and then file such plat in the office of the register of deeds ofthe county, where the same shall be recorded and preserved as a part of theplat of such city.
