13-1339.   Police power of city; police officers.Nothing in this act contained shall take away the power or duty of thegoverning body with reference to the police power of the city, but it shallbe and remain the duty of the governing body to appoint and maintain suchpolice officers as it may deem reasonably necessary for the preservation ofpeace, good order, and the protection of public rights, property in andupon all parks, boulevards, and other public grounds of the city.
