Article 13.--PARKS, PARKWAYS, BOULEVARDS AND PLAYGROUNDS

      13-1353.   Board may acquire lands outside of cities; sale of bonds.The board of park commissioners of any city of the first class shallhave the power to acquire by purchase, gift, condemnation or otherwise suchlands as they may deem necessary for public parks outside of the corporatelimits of the city and not to exceed one mile therefrom, and to issue andsell, subject to the limitations of this act, general bonds of the city topay therefor: Provided, That the board of park commissioners of anycity of the first class having a population of more than 80,000, shall havethe power to acquire by purchase, gift, condemnation or otherwise suchlands as they may deem necessary for public parks outside of the corporatelimits of the city and not to exceed five miles therefrom and to issue andsell subject to the limitations of this act general bonds of the city topay therefor.
