13-14a13.   Service in military forces may be creditedon retirementtime.Any officer or member of such police department or fire department, wholeaves such department andservesin the uniformed services of theUnited States shall be creditedbytherespective board of trustees, with time or any part thereof so served, incomputing such officer's or member's retirement timeforpension purposes, as required byfederal law, including, but not limited to, when applicable, the uniformedservices employment and reemployment rights act of 1994, as in effect on July1, 2008.
