13-798.   Same; transfer of property from fire district to city; cityauthorized to contract for equipment and buildings.The books, papers, moneys, equipment, apparatus, machinery,fire stations, sites,buildings and other real and personal property belonging to any fire district dissolved hereunder shall be transferred to and shall becomethe property of thecity. As to any fire district from which a portion of its area within thelimits of the city is detached hereunder, any books, papers, equipment,apparatus, machinery, fire stations, sites, buildings and other real andpersonal property located within the limits of the city shall betransferred to and shall become the property of the city. In addition, thecity is authorized to negotiate and enter into contracts with any privateor public entity to acquire by lease or purchase and to operate or maintainfire fighting equipment, and to acquire, construct or lease buildings tohouse the same and do all things necessary to effectuate the purposes of this act.
