14-307.   Enforcement of laws and ordinances; jurisdiction.The mayor shall be active and vigilant in enforcing all laws andordinances for the government of the city, and the mayor shall cause allsubordinate officers to be dealt with promptly for any neglect or violationof duty, and the mayor shall have such jurisdiction as may be vested in themayor by ordinance over all places within five miles of the corporatelimits of the city for the enforcement of any health, quarantine, cemeteryor waterworks ordinance and regulation thereof.
