Chapter 14.--CITIES OF THE SECOND CLASS

PART I.--GOVERNMENT BY MAYOR AND COUNCIL AND GENERAL LAWS APPLICABLE TO CITIES OF THE SECOND CLASS


Article 6.--HOSPITALS

     
14-654a.   Same; additional bonds for site, building and equipment;
election.

The governing body of any city of the second class which has authorized
the issuance of bonds under the provisions of K.S.A. 14-641 to 14-654, for
the purpose of acquiring a site and building and equipping a hospital and
for other purposes as specified in said sections, is hereby authorized to
issue additional bonds of said city in an amount not exceeding three
hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) for such purposes: Provided, That
before any such bonds shall be issued the question of issuing the same
shall be submitted to a vote of the people at the next city election or at
an election called for that purpose, and no bonds shall be issued until a
majority of the qualified electors who shall vote on the question at such
an election shall have declared by their votes in favor of issuing said
bonds.

     
All bonds authorized by this act shall be issued, sold, delivered and
retired under the provisions of article 1, chapter 10 of the Kansas
Statutes Annotated and amendments thereto, and none of the debt limitations
provided by law shall apply to bonds issued under this act. Such city is
hereby authorized and empowered to receive and use the benefits of any
federal or state aid, or both, in the construction of such hospital and
training school, or the acquiring of a site, which aid may be in addition
to the proposed bond issue.
