14-663a.   Same; additional bonds; limitation; election.This act shall apply to any city of the second class wherein thequalified electors thereof have voted in accordance with the provisions ofK.S.A. 14-662, to issue bonds for the purpose of providing revenue for thepurpose of acquiring a site, building and equipping a hospital and suchcity has acquired a site for such hospital but the amount of bondsoriginally voted is insufficient to provide revenue for the constructionand equipment of an adequate hospital for said city. The governing body ofany such city is hereby authorized and empowered to issue additional bondsof said city in an amount not exceeding one hundred thousand dollars forthe purpose of construction and equipping a city hospital: Provided,That the question of issuing such bonds shall be submitted to the vote ofthe people at any regular city election or at an election called for thatpurpose and no bonds shall be issued until a majority of the qualifiedelectors who shall vote on the question at such election shall havedeclared by their votes in favor of issuing said bonds. Said election maybe called by the governing body upon its own motion and shall be called bythe governing body upon petition of at least forty percent of the qualifiedelectors of such city.
