15-1504. President of board.
At the first regular meeting of the board of commissioners of any city
adopting the provisions of this act, after the members thereof have been
duly elected and qualified, said board, by a majority vote of all of its
members, shall appoint by ballot one of their number to act instead of the
mayor at any time during which the mayor is unable to perform the duties of
the office by reason of temporary or continued absence or sickness or
disability; the official title of such member so appointed shall be
"President of the Board of Commissioners," and the commissioner so
appointed shall be invested with all the powers and shall perform all the
duties of the mayor of said city during such absence or sickness.
