Article 17.--MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS

      15-1704.   Election to adopt act; election of officers.Before the provisions of this act shall apply to any city of the thirdclass in this state, it shall be submitted, in the manner provided by K.S.A.12-184, to a vote of the legallyqualified electors of such city for adoption, and shall receive a majorityof all votes cast at such election.

      Such election shall be held in all respects according to the law forcity elections on questions submitted. If a majority of all the votes castat such election shall be in favor of the adoption of this act, then at thenext city election in an odd-numbered year a mayor and two (2) commissionersshall be elected as provided herein.
