Article 3.--REGULATION OF AGREEMENTS AND PRACTICES

      16a-3-309.   (UCCC) Referral sales.With respect to a consumer credit sale or consumer lease the seller orlessor may not give or offer to give a rebate or discount or otherwise payor offer to pay value to the buyer or lessee as an inducement for a sale orlease in consideration of his giving to the seller or lessor the names ofprospective purchasers or lessees, or otherwise aiding the seller or lessorin making a sale or lease to another person, if the earning of the rebate,discount or other value is contingent upon the occurrence of an eventsubsequent to the time the buyer or lessee agrees to buy or lease. If abuyer or lessee is induced by a violation of this section to enter into aconsumer credit sale or consumer lease, the agreement is unenforceable bythe seller or lessor and the buyer or lessee, at his option, may rescindthe agreement or retain the goods delivered and the benefit of any servicesperformed, without any obligation to pay for them.
