17-1336. Cemetery districts in certain counties; tax levies; roadimprovement.That in any cemetery district organized or created under the provisionsof sections 17-1330 to 17-1335, both sections inclusive, of the KansasStatutes Annotated, and any amendments thereto, which is located in acounty having a population of not less than eight thousand (8,000) normore than eleven thousand (11,000) and having an assessed tangiblevaluation of more than thirty million dollars ($30,000,000), or which islocated in a county having a population of not less than eighteenthousand (18,000) nor more than nineteen thousand (19,000) and having anassessed tangible valuation of more than thirty-four million dollars($34,000,000), or any county having a population of not less thannineteen thousand (19,000) nor more than twenty-three thousand (23,000)and having an assessed tangible valuation of not less than thirty-threemillion dollars ($33,000,000) nor more than thirty-eight million dollars($38,000,000), a majority of the electors present at the annual cemeterydistrict meeting, shall determine the amount of tax to be levied not toexceed one-half (1/2) mill on all taxable property of the district forthe caring for and maintaining said cemetery and for the improvement ofthe road leading to said cemetery from a county or state highway andcause the same to be certified to the board of county commissioners ofsuch county; and any such cemetery district, so organized or created,which is located in a county having a population of not less than sixthousand five hundred (6,500) and having an assessed tangible valuationof not less than ten million dollars ($10,000,000) nor more thanfourteen million dollars ($14,000,000) shall, when a majority of theelectors present at the annual cemetery meeting determine the amount oftax to be levied not to exceed one (1) mill on all taxable property ofthe district for the caring for and maintaining said cemetery and forthe improvement of the road leading to said cemetery from a county orstate highway, cause the same to be certified to the board of countycommissioners of such county.
