Article 17.--RELIGIOUS, CHARITABLE AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS

      17-1715.   Same; what societies deemed extinct; order of district court. That any Christian Church, Church of Christ (using instrumental music)or Disciples of Christ or any religious society of the Christian Church,Church of Christ (using instrumental music) or Disciples of Christ in thisstate which has ceased or failed to maintain religious worship or servicesor to use its property for religious worship or services according to thetenets, usages and customs of said churches in this state for the period oftwo consecutive years immediately prior thereto, or whose membership has sodiminished in numbers or in financial strength as to render it impossibleor impracticable for such church or society to maintain religious worshipor services, or to protect its property from exposure to waste anddilapidation, or to fulfill the purpose for which it was incorporated,shall be deemed and taken to be extinct, and may, by an order of thedistrict court of the county in which such society has been theretoforesituated, be so declared extinct and dissolved, and, thereupon the propertyof such church or society, or property which may be held in trust for suchchurch or society shall be transferred to, and the title and possessionthereof vested in the said Kansas Christian Missionary Society.
