Article 17.--RELIGIOUS, CHARITABLE AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS

      17-1737c.   Same; procedure for transfer of property.An application for such an order and disposition of property may be madeby any member or officer of the midwest regional conference of theevangelical covenant church of America, a corporation, or by properofficials of said church upon a verified petition setting forth thefacts authorizing such order and disposition of property.

      Upon the presentation of such petition to the district court suchcourt may proceed in a summary manner, after such notice as the courtmay prescribe, to inquire into the merits of such application; and ifupon examination by the court it shall satisfactorily appear that themaking of the order and disposition of the property applied for isnecessary or proper, for any of the causes mentioned in K.S.A. 17-1737bsuch court shall make a final order, declaring suchchurch or society extinct and dissolving the same, and transferring anyproperty and the title and possession thereof which may belong to suchchurch or society, or held in trust for such church or society, andvesting the same in the midwest regional conference of the evangelicalcovenant church of America, a corporation, it being the intent andpurpose of this act to preserve all property owned by or held in trustfor any such extinct church or society for religious uses.
