17-2233. Credit union administrator; appointment,duties, salary, expensesand term.The credit union administrator shall be appointed by the governor,subject to confirmation by the senate as provided in K.S.A. 75-4315b,and amendments thereto.Except as provided by K.S.A. 46-2601, and amendments thereto, no personappointed as administrator shall exercise any power, duty or function asadministrator until confirmed by the senate.Any personappointed as the administrator shall have at least three years'actual,practical experience in the operation andmanagement of a credit union. The administrator shall not be a member ofthe council. The governor shall fix the compensation of theadministrator. In addition, the administrator shall be entitled toreceive the actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance ofthe administrator's duties. The administrator shall be in theunclassified service under the Kansas civil service act. The term of officeof the administrator holding office on the effective date of this act shallexpire on December 31, 2009. Thereafter, theadministrator shall be appointed for a term of four yearsand until a successor is appointed and confirmed. If a vacancy occurs, thegovernor shall appoint a successor to fill the vacancy for the unexpiredterm. Theadministrator shall attend the meetings of the council and shall havethe general charge of the work of the council and the generalsupervision of credit unions. The administrator shall keep a permanent recordof all meetings andproceedings of the council at the office of the administrator.
