17-5568. Same; security measures as a condition for operation.A savings and loan association shall take all steps necessary to protectthe association's interest in the financial transactions processed ateach remote service unit, including the installation, maintenance andoperation of one or more appropriate security devices and theacquisition of available fidelity, forgery and other appropriateinsurance. Appropriate security devices as a condition for operation ofa remote service unit, where the remote service unit is unmanned, shallinclude, but not be limited to: a lighting system for illuminating suchunit during hours of darkness; tamper-resistant locks on the exteriorunit; an alarm system or other appropriate device for promptly notifyingthe nearest responsible law enforcement officers of an attempted orperpetrated robbery or burglary; security provisions that will not allowthe data communications linkage to be vulnerable to a wire tap orintervention from a foreign source; and such other devices as thesecurity officer for the savings and loan association shall, afterseeking the advice of law enforcement officers, determine to beappropriate for discouraging robbery, burglary or larceny and forassisting in the identification and apprehension of persons attemptingsuch acts. Security devices as a condition of operation of a mannedremote service unit shall include, but not be limited to: securityprovisions that will not allow the data communications linkage to bevulnerable to a wire tap or intervention from a foreign source and suchother devices as the security officer for the savings and loanassociation shall, after seeking the advice of law enforcement officers,determine to be appropriate for discouraging robbery, burglary orlarceny and for assisting in the identification and apprehension ofpersons attempting such acts.
