Article 1.--NAMES AND BOUNDARIES OF COUNTIES

     
18-116.   Coffey.
The county of Coffey is bounded as follows: Commencing at a point three
miles north of the southwest corner of Franklin county; thence west with
the south boundary of Osage county, to the southwest corner thereof; thence
south with the section lines dividing the second and third tiers of
sections of range thirteen, to a point forty rods north of the one fourth
corner on the west line of section fourteen, township twenty, range
thirteen; thence east parallel to the east-and-west middle line of said
section, to the middle of the Neosho river; thence down the middle of said
river, passing through the middle of a stone pier now standing in the
middle of the Neosho river and following thence down the middle of the
Neosho river, to a point twenty rods south of the east-and-west middle line
of said section; thence west parallel to the east-and-west middle line of
said section, to the west line of said section fourteen; thence south with
the section line, to the corner of sections fourteen, fifteen, twenty-two
and twenty-three of township twenty-three south, of range thirteen east;
thence east with the section lines, to the northwest corner of Allen
county; thence north with the west boundary of Anderson county, to the
place of beginning.
