18-181.   Riley.The county of Riley is bounded as follows: Commencing at thesoutheast corner of section thirty-four, township eleven south, of rangenine east; thence north on the section line, to the middle of the mainchannel of the Kansas river; thence up said river, in the middle of themain channel thereof, to the middle of the main channel of the Big Blueriver; thence up said Big Blue river, in the middle of the main channelthereof, to the first standard parallel; thence west on said parallel,to the southeast corner of section thirty-four, township five, rangefour east; thence south on the section line between the second and thirdtiers of sections, to the southeast corner of section thirty-four,township nine, range four east; thence east on the township line, to thesoutheast corner of section thirty-four, township nine, range five east;thence south, between second and third tiers of sections, to the westquarter corner of section thirty-five, township ten south, range fiveeast; thence easterly on the east-west quarter section line, saidquarter section line being a southerly boundary of the Fort Rileymilitary reservation as described in land record book 309, pages 161through 163, in the register of deeds office of Riley county, Kansas, toa westerly boundary of said reservation as described in miscellaneousrecord book S, pages 321 through 339 and pages 486 through 490 in saidregister of deeds office; thence southerly and southwesterly on saidwesterly boundary to the intersection of said westerly boundary with thewest line of section fourteen, township eleven south, range five east;thence south along the west line of said section to the southwest cornerof section fourteen, township eleven, range five east; thence east, tothe northwest corner of section twenty-three, township eleven, range sixeast; thence south on the section line, to the middle of the mainchannel of the Kansas river; thence down said Kansas river, in themiddle of the main channel thereof, to where the range line betweenranges six and seven east crosses said river's 1977 course; thence south on said rangeline, to the southwest corner of section nineteen, township eleven,range seven east; thence east, to the southwest corner of sectiontwenty-three, township eleven, range eight east; thence south, to thesouthwest corner of section thirty-five, township eleven, range eighteast; thence east on the township line, to the place of beginning.
