Chapter 19.--COUNTIES AND COUNTY OFFICERS
Article 21.--HOMES FOR THE AGED

      19-2107.   Homes for the aged; elections under19-2106; notice; ballots;tax levies; collection; fund.Any election required under subsection (a) and (b) of K.S.A. 19-2106, andacts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto, shall be held at the usualplaces in such county for electing county officers. Notice of suchelection shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in thecounty once each week for three (3) consecutive weeks, the last publicationto be not less than seven (7) days prior to such election. Such noticeshall specify the date for holding the election and the purpose for suchelection, and the amount of funds proposed to be raised. The vote shall becanvassed in the same manner as that for county officers, and the board ofcounty commissioners of such county shall as set forth in K.S.A. 19-2106,and acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto, submit to thequalified electors thereof, at a primary, general, or special election, thequestion whether there shall be levied upon the assessed valuation of alltaxable tangible property of such county a tax or issued general obligationbonds for the purchase of real estate for a home for the aged, for thepurchase or construction of a building or buildings, and for either or allsuch purposes. The ballot to be used at any election at which the home forthe aged question is submitted shall be in substantially the followingform:

      Shall the county of ______________ levy a ______ mill tax for a homefor the aged. Yes No

To vote for the proposition place an * in the square following "yes."To vote against the proposition place an * in the square following"no."

      If a majority of the votes cast at such election on the propositionso submitted shall be in favor of the proposition the board ofcommissioners shall levy the tax so authorized, which shall be collectedin the same manner as any other taxes are collected, and credited to thehome for the aged fund, and shall be paid out on the order of the boardof commissioners for the purposes authorized by this act, and for noother purposes whatsoever.
