19-2854. Appointment of members; officers; quorum; terms; removal forcause; expenses; meeting and office space.The chairperson of the board of county commissioners, by and with theconsent and approval of the board of county commissioners, shall appointfive residents of such county, as members of the county board of parkcommissioners provided for inK.S.A. 19-2853, and any amendments thereto. The chairpersonshall designate one member of the county board of park commissioners aspresident and one as vice-president thereof and a majority of the boardshall constitute a quorum. The chairperson shall designate onecommissioner to serve for a term of one year, two commissioners to servefor a term of two years and two commissioners toserve for a term of three years and thereafter the members of such countyboard of park commissioners shall hold their offices for a term of threeyears and until their successor or successors shall have been appointed andqualified, and in event of death, dismissal, resignation ordisqualification of any member of such county board of park commissioners,such member's successor shall be appointed by the board of countycommissioners tofill the unexpired term caused by such vacancy. Any member ofthe county board of park commissioners may be removed by the board of countycommissioners for the same cause justifying the removal of any appointiveofficer.
Members of the county board of park commissioners shall receiveas reimbursement for their ordinary and reasonable expenses incurredin the performance of their duties an amount not to exceed $200 per month.All bills andaccounts of the members shall be approved, audited and paid as other claimsin the manner provided by K.S.A. 12-105b, and amendmentsthereto. The board of county commissioners shall provide suitablemeeting space for the county board of park commissioners and suitableoffice space for the manager and office staff.
