19-2863.   Same; governing board's qualifications; terms, appointment;vacancies; compensation.The governing body of the Johnson county park and recreation districtshall be a board of park and recreation commissioners which shall consistof seven (7) members who shall be qualified electors of the district andreside therein at the time of appointment and during their terms of office.An ex officio member of the board shall be a member of the board of countycommissioners of Johnson county selected by said board of countycommissioners. The terms of the park and recreation commissioners shall befor three (3) years and until their successors are appointed and qualified.The board of county commissioners within sixty (60) days after the creationof the district shall appoint the first members of the board and thereaftershall make appointments upon the termination of existing terms. Any vacancyshall be filled by appointment by the board of county commissioners for theunexpired term. All appointments shall be made without regard to politicalaffiliation. No member shall receive any compensation for the performanceof his duties as a member.
