Chapter 19.--COUNTIES AND COUNTY OFFICERS
Article 34.--ELECTION COMMISSIONERS

      19-3420.   Assistant election commissioners; appointment, salary;expenses.The election commissioner shall appoint one assistant, known asassistant election commissioner, who shall receive an annual salary tobe fixed by the election commissioner and shall be paid in the samemanner as other county officers and employees, and in addition theelection commissioner shall certify to the board of county commissionersthe amount necessary for clerk hire and expense, which amount shall beallowed by the board of county commissioners of said county. The boardof county commissioners shall also authorize the statutory mileageallowance provided for in K.S.A. 75-3203 for the assistantsof the election commissioner, to provide and maintain means of travelwithin their county. In counties having a population of more than twohundred thousand (200,000) the election commissioner shall appoint two(2) assistants, known as assistant election commissioners who shall bepaid as provided for in this act.
