Chapter 19.--COUNTIES AND COUNTY OFFICERS
Article 35.--WATER SUPPLY AND DISTRIBUTION DISTRICTS

      19-3548.   Furnishing of funds, personnel or services by certainpublic agencies; agreements between public agencies and wholesale watersupply districts for purchase and sale of water; terms and conditions.Any public agency entering into an agreement pursuant to this act mayappropriate funds and may sell, lease, give, or otherwise supply to thedistrict created such personnel or services for the operation of suchdistrict as may be within its legal power to furnish. Any publicagency, whether or not a party to an agreement pursuant to K.S.A.19-3547, and any publicly or privately owned water distributioncompany may enter into contracts with any district created pursuant tothe public wholesale water supply district act for the purchase of waterfrom such district or the sale of water to the district, the treatmentof water by either party and/or the distribution or transmission ofwater by either party and any such district may enter into suchcontracts. Any such contract may include an agreement for the purchaseof water not actually received. No such contract shall be made for aperiod in excess of forty (40) years, but renewal options in favor ofthe purchasing entity may be included therein. The obligations of anypublic agency under any such contract shall be payable solely from therevenues produced from such public agency's water system and shall notbe payable from any funds raised by taxation.
