19-3605.   Same; inclusion of cities within district; procedure.If the governing body of any city of the first, second or third classes,lying within the boundaries of any proposed or organized fire districtshall deem it advisable to be included within the territory of any firedistrict, such city or cities may be included within such district at thetime of its organization or any time subsequent thereto as follows: Thegoverning body thereof shall, not less than twenty (20) days prior to someregular meeting day, publish a notice (as in the case of publishingordinances) of its intention to petition the board of county commissionersthat all or a part of said city be made a part of or be included within anyproposed or organized fire district in the county and of a hearing on saidproposal at such meeting. At such meeting, or any adjournment thereof, thesaid governing body may adopt a resolution directed to the board of countycommissioners praying that all or part of the city be included within oradded to the fire district, and said petition may be heard by the board ofcounty commissioners at any meeting thereof. After such hearing the boardof county commissioners may make its order as in the case of theorganization of a new district or the alteration and modification of theboundaries of an existing district.
