19-432.   Same; list of persons eligible for appointment;qualifications; training courses; continuing education required to retaincertified status.The director of property valuation shall maintain a current list ofpersons eligible to be appointed to the office of appraiser. Periodicissuance of this list shall constitute the official list ofeligible Kansas appraisers who are candidates for appointment. Inclusion onthislist shall be made dependent upon successful completion of a writtenexamination as adopted and administered by the director.

      The director of property valuation shall be required to conduct trainingcourses annually for the purpose of training appraisal candidates. Thesecourses shall be designed to prepare students to successfully complete thewritten examinations required for eligible Kansas appraiser status.

      Once certified, an eligible Kansas appraiser mayretain that status onlythrough successful completion of additional appraisal courses at intervalsas determined by the director of property valuation. The director shall berequired to conduct training courses annually for the purpose of providingthe additional curriculum required for retention of Kansasappraiser status. The director may accept recognized appraisal courses asan alternative to courses conducted by the director's office to fulfill thisrequirement for the maintenance of eligible Kansas appraiser status.
