Chapter 19.--COUNTIES AND COUNTY OFFICERS
Article 5.--COUNTY TREASURER

      19-502a.   Purchase of burglary insurance authorized; premium payment. The county treasurer of every county in this state may purchase aninsurance policy providing indemnity for, or protection to, said countytreasurer against his liability for the loss, without fault, connivance, orneglect on his part of money, securities, or other property for which he isaccountable, including, but not limited to, loss caused by robbery orburglary. The principal amount of such insurance shall not exceed an amountequal to the greatest amount of cash which was in the hands of the countytreasurer at any one time during the calendar year immediately precedingthe year in which such insurance policy is purchased, unless the board ofcounty commissioners shall authorize the purchase of a policy greater inamount. The premium on said insurance policy shall be paid by the board ofcounty commissioners from the county general fund.
