Chapter 19.--COUNTIES AND COUNTY OFFICERS
Article 8.--SHERIFF

      19-821.   Demanding or receiving illegal fees; penalties.No sheriff shall, directly or indirectly, ask, demand or receive, forany service to be by him performed in the discharge of any of his officialduties, any greater fees than are allowed by law, on pain of forfeitingtreble damages to the party aggrieved, and in being fined in a sum not lessthan twenty-five dollars nor more than two thousand dollars.
