Article 6.--COUNTY EXTENSION

      2-615.   County extension service agents; qualifications, appointment andcompensation; jointly employed agents; approval of county council or districtaccounts and expenditures.(a) Except as otherwise provided for jointly employed agents, theexecutive board of the county extension council or the governing body of theextension district, as the case may be, and the director ofextension, or the director's authorized representative, shall appointan extensionagent and determine the amount of the extension agent's compensation. Theextension agent shall be under the general supervision of the executiveboard or the governing body of the extension district, as the case may be,and the director of extension. Thedirector of extension of Kansas state university of agriculture andapplied science shall determine the qualifications of eachextension agent.

      (b)   The executive boards of two or more county extensioncouncils and the director of extension, or the director's authorizedrepresentative,may enter into an agreement to jointly employ an extensionagent or agents underlike conditions as the executive board of a single county.Any such agreement may determine the amount of compensation to bepaid for each such agent byeach executive board of the county extension council and the director ofextension, the program and service priorities thatwill be applicable to each such agent and the time each suchagent is to spend ineach county. In any case where one or more extension agents areto be jointly employed pursuant to such an agreement, each such agent maybe employed and supervised by a multicounty extension governing board andthe director of extension, or the director's authorized representative, inaccordance with the agreement entered into by the executive boards of thecounty extension councils of the respective counties. Any suchmulticounty extension governing board shall be composed of thechairperson, vice-chairperson, secretary and treasurer of each executiveboard entering into the agreement.

      (c)   All accounts and all expenditures of funds of the countyextension council or the governing body of an extension district, as the casemay be,from whatever source derived shall be subject to theapproval of the executive board and the director of extension of Kansasstate university of agriculture and applied science.
