20-163.   Official station, justices and court ofappeals judges.(a) The official station of each justice of the supreme court and judgeof the court of appeals shall be the county seat of the county where thejustice or judge maintains an actual abode in which the justice or judgecustomarily lives.

      (b)   The chief judge of the judicial district inwhicha justiceof the supreme court or judge of the court of appeals has the justice'sor judge's official station, shall provide suitable office space upon requestby the justice or judge for use by the justice or judge and the justice'sor judge's staff personnel. Such office space shall be in or adjacent tothe district court courtrooms and offices at the official station of thejustice or judge. Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions, no office spaceshall be provided by the chief judge of the thirdjudicial district.

      (c)   Each justice of the supreme court and judge of the court of appeals,upon appointment and from time to time thereafter as changes occur, shallnotify the judicial administrator in writing of the justice's or judge'sofficial station, if other than the city of Topeka.

      (d)   Notwithstanding the other provisions of this section, all mileageand other allowances for official travel for justices of the supreme courtand judges of the court of appeals shall be determined from Topeka, Kansas.
