Article 22.--JUDICIAL COUNCIL

      20-2207.   Publications fee fund; fund use;expenditures.(a) The judicial councilmay fix, charge and collect fees for sale and distribution of legalpublications in order to recover direct and indirect costs incurredfor preparation, publication and distribution of legal publications. Thejudicial council may request and accept gifts, grants and donations from anyperson, firm, association or corporation or from the federal government or anyagency thereof for preparation, publication or distribution of legalpublications.

      (b)   The publications fee fund of the judicial council which was establishedin the state treasury pursuant to appropriation acts is hereby continued inexistence and shall be administered by the judicial council. Revenue from thefollowing sources shall be deposited in the state treasury and credited to suchfund:

      (1)   All moneys received by or for the judicial councilfrom fees collected under this section; and

      (2)   all moneys received as gifts, grants or donations for preparation,publication or distribution of legal publications.

      (c)   Moneys deposited in the publications fee fund of the judicial councilmay be expended for operating expendituresrelated to preparation, publication and distribution of legal publications ofthe judicial council and for operating expenses that are not related topublication activities, including expenditures to fund the Kansas criminalcode recodification commission on July 1, 2009, through June 30, 2010.

      (d)   All expenditures from the publications fee fund shall be made inaccordance with appropriation acts upon warrants of the director of accountsand reports issued pursuant to vouchers approved by the chairperson of thejudicial council or the chairperson's designee.
