Chapter 3.--AIRCRAFT AND AIRFIELDS
Article 1.--MUNICIPAL AIRPORTS AND FIELDS

      3-126.   Transfer of control to board of public utilities in certaincities over 100,000; indebtedness.Any city of the first class now having or hereafter acquiring apopulation of more than 100,000 inhabitants, now owning or hereafteracquiring a municipal water plant and a municipal light plant, which plantsare now or hereafter operated, managed and controlled by a board of publicutilities, as provided by K.S.A. 13-1220 to 13-1234a, and all acts and partsof acts amendatory thereof orsupplemental thereto, which city now owns or hereafter may acquire amunicipal airport and municipal fields for aviation purposes, is authorizedto transfer the management, operation, control and maintenance of suchmunicipal airport and fields for aviation purposes to its board of publicutilities.

      Upon the transfer by such city to its board of public utilities, themanagement, operation, control and maintenance of such municipal airportand municipal fields for aviation purposes, together with all funds in itshands acquired for airport purposes, the board of public utilities of suchcity shall assume and pay all outstanding obligations of such city incurredby the city for the purchase of said airport and municipal fields foraviation purposes, and shall provide a sinking fund to pay all bondedobligations issued for the purchase, construction, development andmaintenance of such municipal airport and municipal fields for aviationpurposes, as they become due.
