3-128.   Same; franchises and property.The board of public utilities may, in the name of the city, take andhold by purchase, gift, devise, bequest, or otherwise, such franchises andreal and personal property, either within or without the city as may benecessary for the carrying out of the operation of such municipal airportand municipal fields for aviation purposes.
