5-503.   Director of dispute resolution; appointment.The director of dispute resolutionshall be appointed by the judicial administrator and work for the office ofjudicial administration. The director of disputeresolutionshall be inthe unclassified service under the Kansas civil service act. The director maybe but isnot required to bean attorney and shall be selected for appointment on the basis of theindividual's training and experience in dispute resolution.The director shalladminister the dispute resolution act and shall provide administrative andclerical assistance to the council. If the person appointed as director isan attorney, such personshalldevotefull time to the duties of the office of director and shall not engage in theprivate practice of law during the period such personserves asdirector.
