9-1710.   Rewards, bank robbers and burglars.The commissioner may aid and assist local officers and private citizensin securing the detection, apprehension and conviction of bank robbers orbank burglars and to that end the commissioner is authorized to offerrewards or contribute moneys for the apprehension and conviction of suchcriminals: Provided, That the commissioner shall not expend more than$1,000 in rewards in any one robbery or burglary.
