Chapter 6. Contracts of Minor Veterans Under Servicemen'sReadjustment Act of 1944

Authorization to execute contracts
Sec. 1. (a) A person who is:
(1) less than twenty-one (21) years of age; and
(2) authorized to participate in the rights, privileges, andbenefits conferred by the federal Servicemen's ReadjustmentAct of 1944, as amended, and other acts of Congress grantinga right, privilege, or benefit to veterans;
and the minor spouse of a person described in subdivisions (1) and(2) may execute a contract that is necessary to the full realization ofthe rights, privileges, and benefits conferred under the federal law ifthe person is otherwise competent to enter into agreements andcontracts.
(b) A contract entered into under subsection (a) by a person whois less than eighteen (18) years of age has the same force and effectas contractual obligations of a person who is at least eighteen (18)years of age.
