IC 11-12-3-1
Establishment and operation of programs; contract with public orprivate agency to provide services
    
Sec. 1. The department may:
        (1) establish and operate community corrections programs ifthese programs are not being provided at the local level; and
        (2) contract with any public or private agency approved by thecommissioner, or any combination of those agencies, for theprovision of community based services to committed persons,including the furnishing of custody, supervision, care, training,and reintegration.

Acquisition of premises and facilities
    
Sec. 2. (a) The department may acquire premises and facilities forcommunity corrections by purchase, lease, contract, or gift.
    (b) To obtain necessary funding for the establishment andoperation of community corrections programs, or to provide theseservices through contractual agreements with public and privateagencies, the commissioner may accept gifts, grants, and subsidiesfrom any lawful source, and apply for and accept federal funds.
